Applicants must meet income eligibility requirements and successfully pass a criminal background check and have favorable landlord references. To be eligible, applicants must not have a history of drug related, violent or sexual related offenses. The Fax number is 435-722-2170.

SECTION 8 WAITLIST IS CURRENTLY 2-YEARS OUT

The Myton City Housing Authority currently administers 33 vouchers

\

This program provides rental assistance to low-income, elderly and disabled families to afford decent, safe and sanitary housing in the private market

\
Because housing assistance is provided on behalf of the family or individual, participants are able to find their own housing, including single-family homes, townhouses and apartments
\
Rental units must meet minimum standards of health and safety, as determined by HUD and the Myton City Housing Authority
\

Eligibility for the voucher is based on a family’s household income

\
The participant’s share of the rent is generally between 30 to 40 percent of their monthly adjusted gross income for rent and utilities
\
The maximum subsidy a participant receives is the difference between the housing authorities’ payment standard and 30 percent of the monthly adjusted income; or the difference between the gross monthly rent (rent plus utilities) and 30 percent of the monthly adjusted income, whichever is less
\
The housing authority pays their portion of the rent directly to the landlord.
